Product Description of Retino AC Gel:

Retino AC Gel is a combination drug, which contains Clindamycin and Tretinoin in combination. These two drugs act against the bacterial infection and used to treat the acne vulgaris and acute leukemia. Clindamycin diminishes the bacterial infection as it is an antibiotic. Tretinoin acts by binding to the human retinoic acid receptor and interacts with cellular DNA. It may lead to an alteration in gene expression, which may result in functional and structural changes. Tretinoin is also used to reduce the production of the oil from sebaceous gland and rejuvenates the skin. It also declines the process of cell proliferation (increase in cell number as a result of cell growth and division) in acute leukemia condition.

Uses of Retino AC Gel:

It is used in the treatment of acute leukemia and acne vulgaris. It is also used in the treatment of photoaging and hair loss treatment. It is able to slow skin aging and remove wrinkle. It is also used to treat and reduce the appearance of stretch marks.

Drug Interactions for Retino AC Gel:

There are some drugs which may interact with Retino AC Gel:

  • Erythromycin topical preparation or erythromycin oral preparation
  • Clarithromycin
  • Corticosteroids
  • Tetracycline
  • Ethanol
  • Contraceptives containing norethindrone

Contraindications for Retino AC Gel:

Retino AC Gel is not indicated in the following conditions:

  • Do not use this medicine if you are pregnant.
  • Avoid the use of this drug if you are hypersensitive to Clindamycin, Tretinoin or any other compound present in this medicine.
  • Do not breastfeed if you are using this medicine.
  • Avoid the use of this medicine if you have a history of eczema (itchy, red, and dry skin caused by inflammation).

  • Retino AC Gel is to be stored at room temperature below 25 degree C.
  • Protect this medicine from heat, moisture and direct light.
  • Store it in a cool and dry place.
  • Keep out of the reach of children and pets.

Doses:

How to apply Retino AC Gel:

You can follow the instructions given below before using this cream:

  • Wash the affected area with water.
  • Wait for 15-20 minutes after washing face as it may reduce the burning sensation.
  • Take a pea sized gel and apply to the affected area at bedtime.
  • Do not apply this gel on cuts and wounds.
  • Start this medicine with twice a week and slowly increase to using it every night.

In case you missed any dose of Retino AC Gel:

Apply the missed dose of Retino AC Gel as soon as you remember. Do not double a dose to make up for the missed dose under any circumstances.

Over Dose of Retino AC Gel:

Overdose of Retino AC Gel will not cause acute problems. But if it accidentally comes in contact with the eyes, flush the eyes with water immediately. If Retino AC Gel is accidentally ingested, immediately induce emesis and gastric lavage.

Precautions for Retino AC Gel:

Some point which should be remembered while using Retino AC Gel:

  • Use this gel at night only.
  • Use sunscreen during the day even if you use Retino AC Gel at night.
  • Avoid the use of cleansers, toners and moisturizers along with this Gel.
  • Do not go for a higher percentage of this formulation before your skin comfortably tolerates a lower strength.
